What Is a Cache Stampede?
A cache stampede happens when many requests simultaneously discover that the same cached value is missing or expired and all attempt to regenerate it at once. Instead of one request rebuilding the value, hundreds or thousands may hit the database or another expensive dependency simultaneously.
